What Are On Demand Water Heaters?
Water heaters are becoming some of the most technologically advanced home
systems in the world and people are all too happy about it. When in the past
the water heaters were the appliance that caused the most grief, they are
now the easiest to use appliances that are making people wish they had
switched a long time ago. This is prominently seen when you look at the new
on demand water heaters.
On demand water heaters are new and exciting and being used more and more
this day and age. Over all they are a lot different then the standard tank
style of water heaters that have been popular since the early days. They
employ some of the newest technology, some of which has been used by
businesses the world over for about ten to fifteen years but some of the
more upbeat companies saw a demand.
Consumers are now privy to some of the best in water heating that can be
found anywhere. The new on demand water heaters are just like they sound.
They provide hot water to any source in the home on demand, rather then the
previous system of waiting for a huge tank of water to heat.
The new on demand water heaters make use of heating coils. These coils are
where the water is heated as it passes through the pipes. With this kind of
system the water does not pool into a tank at one point as it does with the
standard types of water heaters. This system with tanks is all to poor when
it comes to efficiency and such. The water must fill to a certain level in
the tank before the heating system will kick in. Then the household must
wait for the entire tank of water, as much as one hundred gallons to become
heated to the right temperature.
With the on demand system the water is heated to the right temperature when
it is requested from the pipes. The coils are set into the pipes and heat to
a red hot state as soon as the hot water is demanded. Once the water starts
to flow it passes over these coils and the water is then heated properly
without a bunch of waiting around for the water to heat.
The only downfall with this kind of system is the fact that it cannot handle
more than one outlet at a time unless you go with one of the higher dollar
systems. So one person at a time would be able to take a shower in one part
of the home but not two. However, this is still a vast improvement over the
tank style of water heaters that are so common.
